Three things I hate about the iPhone

App Store

iPhone users cannot download any app they want: Apple needs to approve them for the AppStore, which can take several weeks (even for small updates) and sometimes rejects apps for ridiculous reasons. If you want to download apps not approved by Apple, like a GameBoy emulator or “WinterBoard” for custom icons and themes, you need to jailbreak your device and go to the Cydia Store.

Alarm Clock

You could wake up with your favourite playlist with any iPod yet, with your iPhone or iPod Touch, you can only select some “cool” sound effects like a dog barking, a harp or a xylophone.

Warranty

Any MacBook, iMac or Mac Pro has an international warranty that can be extended with an Apple Care Protection Plan to three years from the computer’s purchase date. Warranty for the iPhone is different: Service for eligible repairs is only available in the country where your iPhone was purchased.

Even though, I have to admit that the iPhone and the iPod touch are great devices with the best mobile operation system on the market. That’s why my iPod touch will be replaced by a new iPhone 3G S soon.

But if Apple improves the AppStore and gives the iPhone an international warranty, the whole iPhone experience could become a lot better. And giving the alarm clock the option to choose your playlist shouldn’t be a big problem, I don’t know why they didn’t do it in the first place..
